Terms & Conditions

Training Methods
The training methods used by Mutty Manners are based on the principles of positive reinforcement and, as such, are kind, fair, and reward based. Harsh handling of dogs and the use of aversive training tools such as prong collars, e-collars, and choke chains will not be permitted in training sessions.

Payment, Refunds & Cancellations
Payment is required in full before attending any training sessions. I cannot guarantee a place on a training session until payment has been made. Classes can be booked on my website or for 1:1 sessions, payment can be made via bank transfer.

I require a 72 hour notice period for any cancellations of 1:1 sessions or training walks. Partial refunds or rescheduling will be offered in those instances. If the cancellation is within the 72 hours of the appointment no refund will be provided.

Cancellations of pre-booked classes require a 7 day notice of intended cancellation. Refunds or rescheduling will be offered when at least 7 days notice is provided. Where cancellations are within the 7 days of the first class date no refund will be provided. Part refunds will not be offered for missed dates for classes with multiple dates.

In the event that I have to cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances, such as adverse weather / illness / emergency, I will make every effort to reschedule the service to another mutually convenient time.

Safety
The number of dogs in classes is limited to ensure the safety of all participants. Please do not bring additional dogs. If you are unsure of your dog’s suitability for classes, please ask. I may be able to offer 1:1 training sessions instead or classes more suitable to your dog. If you turn up to classes that are not designed for reactive dogs with a potentially reactive/aggressive dog and you have not informed me of this, I reserve the right to exclude you and your dog from classes and there will be no refund.

For home visits, please arrange for your dog to be in another room (without access to the front door) when I first arrive. I will advise you as to when (and how) it is safe to bring the dog into the room.

Parking
If I am visiting your home, please make a parking space available if possible. If not, and there is on-street parking which requires a visitor permit, please have the appropriate permit ready for use upon my arrival. If parking at your home (or any other venue we have arranged to meet at) requires payment, please kindly arrange for this.

Children
Children are welcome to attend training sessions, as long as there is appropriate adult supervision. I accept no responsibility for children at training sessions and it is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure the children’s safety at all times. All people under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bitches in season
Please do not bitches that are in season to group classes. This can be distracting to the other dogs and present a possible safety concern. Any in season bitches will be turned away from a class environment. Accommodations can be made during this period in order for you to stay up to date with the training exercises covered in class. All bitches must be two weeks post season before attending any classes.

Vaccinations, Infectious diseases, and illnesses
All dogs should be suitably protected from potential risk of disease, as well as being appropriately treated for internal and external parasites. Please do not turn up to class or training sessions if your dog has any infectious diseases/illnesses. If you are unsure that your dog is fit to attend class, please seek veterinary advice. If your dog is unable to attend, you may be able to attend without your dog present to stay up to date with the training exercises covered in class.

The owner accepts full responsibility for the protection of their own dog from the risk of disease.

Marketing / Privacy
Photographs and videos may be taken during training sessions. Such photos and videos may be used by Mutty Manners for the purpose of marketing. If you do not wish for any photos/videos of you or your dog to be used please let me know.
